He explains that after a steward, in charge of his master’s possessions, had been told he was fired, he went out and wisely gathered friends by reducing their debts to the master. Jesus in explaining this story and the master of the story seem to both think of the steward as wise. Pastor Johnson relates to us five principles for managing resources: • Being early on the “S” curve – getting into an investment at the right time and getting out at the right time. • Understanding compounding – letting your dollars birth children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Starting young and leaving it alone. • Leveraging your dollars – a wise use of others dollars. • Repetition – investing in what will be need for the future and doing this over and over. • Relationships – Jesus reveals for us in the passage the stewards good work at developing relationships.
