<reviewbody>This is a turning point speech for the United States. It's the last time that an adversary is not demonized, but treated as a fellow human who we fundamentally disagree with. But gave a good portion of self examination to carry it's validity. Too bad the hawks who run our government since and now has no regard for anything or anyone but themselves....</reviewbody>

<reviewbody>The speech's content is timeless and certainly relevant to today's situation in Iraq. Experienced and sophisticated leadership that sincerely believed the principals espoused in jfk's american university speech would have found a smarter way to solve any problem that Iraq posed to America, other than to subject brave American souls to the risk to which they have been subjected in that country.</reviewbody>

<reviewbody>Kennedy again goes off about how wonderful Peace would be if only both nations weren't nudging wach other during the cold war, how nice it would be if they wouldn't stockpile weapons, and how happy the 2 countries would be if they just got along. It's a pretty good speech, curious as to the setting though of such a speech. I mean, a commencement address?</reviewbody>

<review><reviewbody>...not too bad for a bootlegger's son. Why our government wheel was afraid of JFK is a question of morality and prejudice. Our world would have been a world totally different one had JFK been allowed to bring the USA into moral accountability. His want for this purpose was his demise....</reviewbody>

<review><reviewbody>Profound on so many levels ... especially interesting in light of some of the more recent insights into JFK's concurrent thoughts on issues like Viet Nam (Robert Dallek convincingly argues that he was ready to conceed the issue as the choice of the Vietnamese people) and on Civil Rights ( "there is not peace in many of our cities because there is not freedom")</reviewbody>
